Camping is a favorite past time of so many. It is good old, all American fun. The Boy Scouts do it. The Girl Scouts do it. Families have been taking camping trips for as long as the tent has been around. A lot of preparation and planning go into successfully executing a camping trip. You need to make sure you pack everything and you have enough of everything. From toothpaste to the camp chair, you need to be prepared.

Make a checklist for when you are packing. This will ensure that you have everything you need and that you do not forget to pack anything. The big things are easy to remember. The tent, sleeping bags and Coleman camping chairs will never be forgotten. It is all the little things that you have to remember. You will need toothpaste, dental floss, toothbrush, mouthwash, conditioner, shampoo, sunscreen, bug spray, nail clippers, tweezers, soap, lip balm, shaving cream, razors, lotion, Tylenol, Children’s Tylenol, deodorant, metal mirror, toilet paper, paper towels, tarp, first aid kit, flash light, multi-purpose tool, rope, dish soap, 5 gallon bucket, and a roll of garbage bags. You will also want soap for dishes, sewing kit, tent, sleeping bags, camping folding chairs (one for each person), propane grill, canteen, blankets, bandana, pick axe, gas lantern, cooler and backpacks. If kids are coming along don’t forget the kids camping chairs.

You are going to also have to pack some food, some drinks and plenty of cups, paper plates and napkins. When purchasing camping chairs there is a lot you need to research and take into consideration. There are so many camping chairs that you can choose from. You are going to have to make sure that each person that is going to be camping has a chair. They can range in price from $15-$80. Other manufactures besides Coleman are making camping couches and even rocking camping chairs. Yes you read that right, a folding camping rocking chair. I have personally tried one of these are they are really nice. So if you are used to hauling out your folding lawn chairs to your campsite, you are going to be pleasantly surprised with these new camp chairs.

The rocking chair is great if you just want to sit back and relax at the camp site but not so good if you want to sit up close next to the camp table and play cards or eat dinner or lunch. You can get a rocking chair with a leg rest as well and also non rocking chairs with leg rests. The same story goes for the chairs with the leg rests. Sometimes the leg rests get in the way when you are sitting close by the campfire. The leg rests also get in the way when you only have a small rain fly to keep dry and you all need to huddle under it. In this case the smaller chair the better.

Purchasing outdoor folding chairs with a back rest is a must. You think you will be okay with one without a back rest but after a long day of canoeing without a back rest you want a place to rest your back. It is worth the extra money and the small amount of weight that it adds. If you are canoeing you can just strap the chair to the supports in the middle of the canoe and you don’t have to worry about it falling out when you portage your canoe.

I am mainly just speaking from my experiences with the camping chair. I mainly do canoe camping and backpack camping. Folding camping chairs are so great to have because even on uneven ground it is still better than sitting on a rock.
